Raised Bed Gardening for Beginners
If gardening isn’t your natural skill, don’t let that stop you from growing your veggies. Discover the fun way to maximize your space and enjoy fresh food year-round! Are you fed up with the increasing prices of veggies that lack vibrancy and flavor? Do you crave a lifestyle change that connects you with nature and reduces your carbon footprint? The planet can’t cope with our methods of mass-producing food. Soil is depleting, chemicals are infiltrating waters, and wildlife is disappearing. It’s not just the environment that is suffering. Our health is, too. According to the Environmental Working Group, tests on spinach samples contained between 7 and 19 different pesticides. And that’s just spinach alone. Kale, collard, mustard greens, and green beans are all on the Dirty Dozen list of foods that contain pesticides. Ironically, all of those veggies are some of the easiest to grow at home, and choosing to grow them in your garden means you get to take control of your diet and health while saying no to harmful chemicals—not to mention the fantastic taste and personal satisfaction that come with growing your own food. It all sounds like a lovely dream, but where do you start? You are already short on time, and it’s not like you have much space. The answer lies in raised beds!
